KEDARKANTHA TREK
Kedarkantha Trek is situated in the Garhwal mountains of Uttarakhand. It is an easy and beginner and family friendly trek is being the most popular winter trek in India. The Kedarkantha Trek is located in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.There is a vastness of the flowering blooms which attracts avariety of birds and animals at this region making it a favourite among nature lovers, birdwatchers, and professional trekkers. The trail to Kedarkantha offers the experience of a tough climb to a peak, 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, beautiful sunrise views, exploring dense forests, alpine lakes, Garhwali cultures, spiritual places and much more. HAR KI DUN TREK
Har ki Dun trek is a rather easy trek thus easily undertaken by families. It is a cradle shaped valley which is situated in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in the Uttarkashi district of north west Uttarakhan. This valley from here can only be accessed via trekking. A total 50 km trek which takes about 4-5 days to complete.. The distance to the Har Ki Dun valley is 25 km from the road head, making the total trek distance 50 km. It takes 2 to 3 days to reach the valley and another 2 days to return. Har Ki Dun trek in terms of the trail is rather easy there are only two places where the area is slightly steep so one must ascend gradually. Also another thing to consider is that one has to walk more than 10 km a day on 4 of the 5 trekking days. This trek can be easily undertaken by families. Har ki dun means “Valley of Gods” or “Sound of God”.
PHULARA RIDGE TREK
Phulara Ridge Trek is a relatively not so famous trek as it was only recently discovered. But it is as breathtaking as any other trek in northern India as it offers stunning views of Mt Swargarohi, Black Peak, Mt Bandarpoonch, Sarutal Top, Draupadi Ka Daanda (DKD), Ranglana Peak, Hata Peak, etc. Phulara Ridge, which is easy to moderate in terms of difficulty, covering just 30 km. It takes 2 days to reach the ridge and another 2 days to return to the Basecamp. Pushtara Meadows is one of the main attractions during the trek. There is a mix of ascending and descending terrain and once the final descent is done you will be able to see the vast grasslands of Pushtara. The beauty of this majestic space will make the trek absolutely worthwhile.
GAUMUKH TAPOVAN TREK
We all look for a trek which not only appeals to our adventure side but also a spiritual side. Gaumukh Tapovan trek offers just that. Gaumukh as called by the sages in ancient times due to its appearance as cows mouth is from where the water of holy river Ganga trickles down. The Gaumukh glacier is the source of Bhagirathi and is of great significance due to the pilgrims and trekkers as they can take a dip in the holy origin of Ganga river in the absolutely chilly river water. The Gaumukh Tapovan Trek is a mesmerizing journey through the Garhwal Himalayas, leading adventurers to the sacred source of the Ganges River at Gaumukh. Tapovan is located at an altitude of 4,463 m / 14,640 ft above sea level.
Tapovan as a region has vast green meadows that surround the base camp of the Shivling peak. The area is covered with streams, beautiful colourful wildflowers in and around the campsites. One can find Herds of Bharal (blue mountain goats) here on mountain and ridges. Though the Trek is challenging it is highly rewarding trek taking you deep into the heart of the Indian Himalayas. The trek starts from the town of Gangotri and takes you on a journey through beautiful meadows, dense forests, rocky terrain, and high-altitude glaciers.
VALLEY OF FLOWERS TREK
Valley of flowers Trek , a UNESCO certified World Heritage Site is an ultimate destination for nature lovers. Situated between the Zanskar and the Great Himalayan ranges, Valley of Flowers is Part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve . This trek is an absolutely must for botanists, mountaineers and trekkers. It is a region full of rare Himalayan plants and flowers as well as birds, rare in nature; only to be found at a specific altitude. The flora and fauna of the valley is so indigenous not likely to be found elsewhere as its not only fragile but also endangered. It is a moderate difficulty trek covering a distance of about 38kms spanning across 6 days.
DAYARA BUGYAL TREK
Dayara Bugyal Trek is a easy 17 km trek taking about 5-6 days to finish and is one the most popular winter treks in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. A hiking based itinerary is made to explore the majestic alpine meadows, local culture of Barsu & Raithal, surrounding Himalayan peaks, a goat village, the unique butter festival, and many more. The trek starts either from Raithal or Barsu and often is done in a loop with trekkers returning to the same base camp they start the trek from, i.e. Raithal or Barsu.
Another unique option is to start the trek from Raithal and end the trek at Barsu. Due to its flexible start and end option this trek allows trekkers to experience more in the same trekking duration.
BALI PASS TREK
A difficult trek which is about 66 kms which reaches altitude of about 16000 feet above sea level, Bali Pass trek located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It has long walking days, with steep ascents and descents. This trek is not advisable to attempt solo due to its difficult trail hence an experienced trek guide is recommended while you attempt this trek.
CHOPTA CHANDRASHILA TREK
Known for its scenic beauty all year round, Chopta Chandrashila Trek is an easy 7km trek . It passes through some beautiful forests and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-clad peaks. The mian attraction of this trek is the 1000-year-old Tungnath temple (12,073 feet), which is the highest shrine of Lord Shiva in the world.
Along with the Tungnath temple another attraction during the trek is Chandrashila Peak (12,110 Feet), famous for its breathtaking 360-degree view of the Himalayan ranges. This peak is one of the few in Uttarakhand that can also be climbed during the winter months.
KUARI PASS TREK
A moderate difficulty trek of about 28kms is known for the views that it offers. This trek offers panoramic views and the awe-inspiring sight of Nanda Devi, Dunagiri, and several other Himalayan giants from various vantage points along the route. Furthermore, the Chaukhamba massif stands tall, its snow-capped peaks glistening in the sunlight. Neelkanth, with its distinct pyramidal shape, commands attention. ADI KAILASH TREK
Adi Kailash trek is a difficult trek of 76kms which takes a good 19 days to complete.it is located along the Indian Tibetan border and its from here that the epic Lailash pilgrimage begins. During the trek one encounters cascading waterfalls, thick dense forests with the gorgeous views of the majestic mountain ranges. Along with this the flowering blooms and indigenous birds and animals found in the region makes this trek wholesome. It is believed that Lord Shiva resided at Mount Kailash. “Adi” means “beginning, unequaled”. A moderate difficulty trek of about 24 kms, Brahmatal Trek offers scintilating view of the Himalayas. A populartrek done during the winter season from December to March.
